Yellow and light blue title on blue cloth boards which have some minor marks, just a touch of wear to spine head and tail and corner tips and age darkening to spine. Internally there is a small name and date to front endpaper, age darkening to endpapers and foxing to closed edges.316 pages. Second edition. The pieces, first appeared in the Daily Mail - with the exception of No. XLII. The author, Dominic Bevan Wyndham-Lewis (1891-1961), was an author who wrote a humorous column for the Daily Mail, entitled 'By the Way', and penned the pseudonym 'Beachcomber', later passing on the mantle to the more well known J.B. Morton. He lived in Paris from the mid 1920s while doing historical research (although he contributed a column called 'At the Sign of the Blue Moon' to the Daily Mail which his followers regarded as his most outstanding body of humorous work).
